LEADING THE CHARGE IN HEV CONVERSIONS
Ten years ago hardly anyone knew what the letters EV meant. Today, it is generally regarded as the future of mobility.
Because we prefer leading rather than following, RMA Group invested in a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Conversion Program at the RMA Automotive (RMAA) Assembly and Distribution Center in Thailand.
WHY BUY WHEN YOU CAN CONVERT?
Our conversions are compatible with most pick-up trucks and light commercial vehicles and offer fleet and retail customers an immediate and practical solution to the problems of high running costs and high carbon emissions.
RMA Group continues to increase our investment in and rollout of HEV and PHEV conversions.
RMAA purchased the proven hybrid technology and existing inventory of Spruce Power, formerly known as XL Fleet, a US-based company. XL Fleet was a certified Vehicle Modifier for all major North American brands and has electrified many of the most common commercial fleets such as vans, pick-up trucks and shuttle buses, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric drive solutions.
Using this technology and inventory, we completed an HEV-conversion pilot program aimed at fleet and retail customers wanting to reduce their running costs and carbon footprint. This involved the installation and testing of lithium-ion batteries and hybrid technology on pilot vehicles with traditional drivetrains and engines.
CUT FLEET FUEL BILLS
We are now in the position to offer our RMA Special Vehicles global customers Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) kits. Typical improvements in fuel economy range from 20% to 45%, depending on whether the HEV or PHEV system is installed.
These conversions transform a factory OEM vehicle into a more fuel-efficient hybrid by adding an electric motor, a powerful and advanced lithium-ion battery pack, and control software. The PHEV conversion also includes regenerative braking and a proven high-voltage lithium battery pack. The internal combustion engine and transmission is left unchanged.
