RMA Automotive Proudly Sponsors a Home at SOS Children's Village

SOS Childrens Village

Pretoria, 4 June 2025 – RMA Automotive, specialists in vehicle modifications, is proud to announce its commitment to corporate social responsibility through a three-year sponsorship of a home at SOS Children’s Village, Mamelodi. This initiative reflects our dedication to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children who are in need of a loving family environment.

SOS Children’s Villages has been a beacon of hope for children living in difficult circumstances across eight provinces in South Africa, providing loving homes through a family, a village, education and a supportive environment for children and youth who have lost parental care.  For more than 40 years, SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa has been providing alternative care and child protection services to over 700 children in our villages, and over 4500 children in our Family Strengthening Programme (FSP). Our FSP interventions for children are aimed at equipping families to better care for their children, so that complete family breakdown is avoided, so that no child should grow up alone.

Brendan Londt, Country Manager of RMA Automotive South Africa, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We believe that our sponsorship aligns perfectly with our core values. Endurance is one of our guiding principles and we are in it for the long run. Supporting SOS Children’s Villages allows us to contribute to the welfare of up to eight children in the home we are sponsoring, and we look forward to making a positive impact in their lives.”

As we embark on this journey with RMA Automotive, we invite everyone in our community to join us in supporting the children, where we can help build a brighter future for the youth of South Africa”, stated Nqabakazi Gina, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa.

Founded in 2007, RMA Automotive is part of the global RMA Group and is located in Silverton, Pretoria. Our state-of-the-art facility specializes in designing, engineering, and building customized vehicle modifications and solutions for the mobility market across the African continent.

Ford SA launches programme for specialised commercial vehicle conversions

ford specialised vehicle conversion

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Ford SA) has launched the Ford Pro Convertor (FPC) programme for commercial market customers seeking specialised vehicle conversions.

The programme allows Ford-approved converters to carry out modifications on selected Ranger, Everest and Transit product lines, in order to meet a range of commercial and industrial needs, be it a dropside bakkie, ambulance, emergency response vehicle, armoured protection car, mining and construction support vehicle, or any other bespoke conversion.

The programme ensures that all of the conversions meet Ford’s standards, while it also preserves the original factory warranty on all non-modified components.

It also means that all of the converted vehicles are supported through Ford SA’s dealer network.

Customers can contact their Ford dealer, which will then direct them to the FPC programme.

Following a consultation and quotation process, and once payment or finance arrangements are finalised, the dealer will coordinate with the approved convertor to complete the modifications.

Lead times range from four to six weeks, but can vary based on the nature of the individual conversion project.

The conversion itself is covered by the approved convertor’s warranty.

In addition, the convertor will issue a homologation certificate upon completion, ensuring that the vehicle is legally registered in its converted form, and that it can be sold without the need to revert to its original specification.

Given the wide variety of conversion types, pricing is tailored individually, based on customer requirements.
