An unstoppable ambulance

Designed for use in tough terrain and crumbling infrastructure, this van ambulance is built on a converted 4X4 base vehicle to create the ultimate go-anywhere ambulance. It features customizable design that accommodates medical equipment and provides for attending personnel and a patient area. This van wraps up affordability, durability and reliability in a vehicle that stops at nothing to deliver life-saving medical care.

RMA Special Vehicles convert a regular two-wheel drive van into a highly capable off-road vehicle, with a raised body, all-terrain tyres and an extremely capable 4×4 drivetrain. The ambulance interior is then fitted out according to European specifications and deployed to customers worldwide.

Our 4×4 Off-road Ambulance is kitted out with a main stretcher and ramp, foldable rear step, flip-up attendant seat and a bench seat for four. Interiors are customisable, but in previous projects, a fleet of RMA Special Vehicles 4X4 ambulances currently in service with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health was fitted with medical cabinets and a wash basin with a 10L water tank. Hygienic and easy-to-wipe aluminum interior panels provide noise & heat insulation for greater occupant comfort. The patient area has an anti-bacterial, anti-slip floor.
Electronic features include Reverse Gear Camera, Power Sliding Side Step, Exterior Emergency Lights and Siren and PA System. There is an AC power supply 1,000W
(110V or 230V) with power sockets fitted inside and a battery recharger with external power inlet socket.

WHEN LIVES DEPEND ON RELIABILITY

The RMA Special Vehicles Life Support Ambulance Van has a high roof with wide opening rear swing doors and a side sliding door to provide ease of access.

The patient area has smooth hygienic interior surfaces made of aluminium panels. These come with excellent noise & heat reduction qualities. The flooring has anti-bacterial, anti-slip surfaces. There is ample LED interior lighting, an exterior work light, numerous power outlets and individually controlled air-conditioning.

Exterior lighting incudes a full width roof mounted emergency light bar, a rear beacon light and side emergency lights.The stretcher fits securely to one side of the patient area and is flanked by an attendant bench for three passengers. Up to three flip up attendant’s chairs can also be fitted (depending on customer requirements).

The interior is equipped with multiple storage cabinets, overhead hooks for IV drips, a blood pressure unit and an oxygen therapy system.

RMA Special Vehicles Life Support Ambulances are built on a Van body such as the Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Toyota Hi-Ace.

Customers can choose from a variety of additional fitments such as a wash basin with water tanks, sliding IV hangers, spine board, extrication collar and head immobilizer.

The modified life support ambulance uses the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as its base. Customizable to client requirements, it delivers everything health care providers require: space, durability and reliability. Equipped with an oxygen tank, stretcher and attendant seating, it also features an external defibrillator (AED) with a lifeline ECG monitor to deliver critical patient support while in-transit to a medical facility.

The Capybara Armored Life Support Ambulance is designed with a flexible exterior configuration, so it can be built on any base vehicle of any OEM according to client needs and outfitted in-house with technical panels as required. The ambulance interior has a single stretcher, attendant seating, oxygen tanks, medical storage compartments and standard life support medical equipment. It has an independent air conditioning system, rear door access and side windows and is fitted with a PA system, radio, siren and emergency light bar.

FASTER STROKE CARE IS BETTER STROKE CARE

The Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) was built by RMA Special Vehicles in collaboration with Siriraj University Hospital and has found much acclaim in medical circles. In 2023 it was awarded the grand prize at the invention symposium, WorldInvent Singapore.

In the case of a stroke, early treatment is essential to ensure the best rate of patient recovery. Purpose-built with a CT scanner on board and connected via ultra-fast 5G to the neurologist, the MSU allows for radiological diagnosis, evaluation, and effective early treatment of stroke patients.

The MSU is stationed at satellite locations with easy access to main roads and highways that can be easily reached by ambulances to cut down on transfer times.

Aside from the CT scanner, the medical interior is outfitted with computer systems and other specialist equipment. A specially designed access ramp moves the stretchered patient into the ambulance interior. Power is provided by independent inverters while integrated stabilizers are deployed to create a perfectly steady environment.

4WD SUV Ambulances, also known as ERVs (Emergency Response Vehicles) are the first choice for paramedics and first responders, who need superior performance, versatility and maneuverability. We upgrade the vehicle with a heavy-duty brake and suspension package, all-terrain tyres, and optional front bullbar with electric winch and air intake snorkel.

The rear patient area accommodates a full-length stretcher and two flip-up attendant seats and is fitted with IV hangers, oxygen tanks, first-aid kit and medical adjunctive supply kit as standard equipment.

It also is fitted with an LED emergency light bar, rear mounted work light, a siren and PA system.
