CAPYBARA CASH-IN-TRANSIT

DEFENCE & SECURITY
CAPYBARA CASH-IN-TRANSIT

ARMORED, DEPENDABLE AND VERSATILE.

The Capybara Cash-in-Transit has a rear walk-in vault and racking system, security access door, a crew area with seating, intercom, siren and PA system. It has a reverse camera system and a DVR system with 8 cameras for all round vehicle visibility.

The front of the vehicle has B6 steel and window armoring, while the rear of the vehicle and vault area is protected by lightweight anti-cut composite panels and fitted with run-flat tyres.

The HMI is also used for monitoring the 8-camera CCTV system. The 1,080 pixel infrared, NVR Wifi/4G/LTE cameras provide an uninterrupted video feed to the Service Center.

The HMI is also used as a distance limiter. A trip is capped at a preset distance (e.g. from the pickup point to the bank). Once it exceeds this distance, the alarm activates at the Service Center and the vehicle’s engine can be remotely disabled.

Our CIT vehicles can also be fitted with run-flat tyres, typically with a range of up to 130km and a safe travelling speed of up to 100km/h even when flat.

Door security is customised according to client demand. We offer combinations of RFID cards, door buttons and fingerprint readers or other biometrics.

RMA designs the CIT vehicle around the client’s internal procedures, requirements and payload.

SECURITY PICKUP

DEFENCE & SECURITY
SECURITY PICKUP

A PICKUP YOU CAN’T KNOCK DOWN

This do-anything go-anywhere 1 ton 4×4 pickup is built on the Ford Ranger base. It’s popular with private policing and security agencies because it’s versatile, tough and practical. A front bull bar with electric winch, light bars, snorkel with integrated GPS tracker, spare wheel and Jerry Can holders are fitted. Underneath, a heavy-duty brake and suspension system provides additional safety and improved handling, while reducing maintenance and downtime.

Silent Mode

When a mission depends on stealth, it is critical not to be heard or seen. The silent mode transitions the power source from the combustion engine to the electric motor fitted on the rear driveline and powered by battery. This emits no engine sound or engine heat. Silent Mode doesn’t impact the internal combustion engine operation at all, and when needed, the engine can be quickly restarted.

The electric motor propels the vehicle at speeds up to 20 km/hour, but higher speeds are possible on request, and the range is scalable by various battery sizes and ranges from 2-30 kilometres.

3500 kg Suspension

The suspension upgrade to 3500 kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) expands the operational uses of the vehicle and ensures enhanced handling and long-term durability under heavy loads and extreme driving conditions. Proven and validated with the Australian Design Rules, the strictest GVM upgrade regulations, it prevents fading and ageing of the damping system in regular heavy operating conditions. It adds to safety by stabilising and levelling the vehicle and maintains ride and drive quality by stiffening the suspension system. The upgraded hot rolled front foil was designed for high load and long life, while heavy-duty multi-leaf rear suspension was designed for high load and minimum stress. The twin-tube foam cell dampers front and rear plus heavy-duty rubber and polyurethane bushes all increase stability and lifespan.

The entire upgrade then undergoes extensive testing and tuning to meet or exceed the OEM dynamics. Both the ABS and ESP are tested and validated to maintain function with the new GVM.

JP 8 Fuel Conversion

This allows the Ranger SV to run on all grades of diesel and even jet fuel. During the conversion, we replace the catalytic converter with a non-catalytic muffler system. The Exhaust Gas Return valve is blocked to prevent return exhaust from entering the EGR cooler, while the cooler itself remains in place. The conversion is also available in a hot climate option.

Software updates include recalibration of the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to deactivate the EGR sensor and delete the error codes from appearing. The recalibrated ECU also allows it to manage operations while the vehicle runs on various non-diesel fuels e.g. F 63 and JP 8.

Ranger SV

DEFENCE & SECURITY
RANGER SV

A SPECIAL VEHICLE FOR SPECIAL OPERATIONS

The Ranger SV Light Tactical Vehicle can be built on any single cab or double cab such as the Ford Ranger 1-ton pickup, and was designed for defense and security operations and engineered with cutting-edge technology for use in surveillance operations.

Black Out Function

Designed for stationary observation or active surveillance, the operator can switch off all light-emitting and sound sources with the flick of a single switch: When the operator turns on “Black Out,” a series of smart modules activate and turn off their light sources or enter sleep mode. All passive systems also switch off to prevent any light illumination. Sound-emitting sources such as the horn and warning beepers also switch off.

While this happens, the primary vehicle functionality remains. The heating, ventilation and AC system (HVAC) operates normally, as does the engine and transmission. Power steering and all vehicle safety systems such as ABS/ESP/Airbag remain activated and function normally.

Convoy lights and infrared lights can be installed for defense customers.

When a mission depends on stealth, it is critical not to be heard or seen. The silent mode transitions the power source from the combustion engine to the electric motor fitted on the rear driveline and powered by battery. This emits no engine sound or engine heat. CASH-IN-TRANSIT TRUCK

DEFENCE & SECURITY
CASH-IN-TRANSIT TRUCK

PROTECTS YOUR STAFF AND YOUR CLIENTS VALUABLES

The Cash-in-Transit ATOM truck is fitted with Composite Ballistic Products and Protection Panels produced to stringent international industry standards. A 7-inch touchscreen controls the Human Machine Interface (HMI) which controls system configuration, feedback, mode control and code exchange and allows drivers to switch between Park Mode, Depo Mode, Secure Mode or SOS Mode.

RMA Special Vehicles has an in-house division which develops products for our range of Cash-in-Transit vehicles. The team focuses on innovation, development and production of Composite Ballistic Products and Protection Panels to stringent international industry standards. This part of our business enables our vehicles to be modified to be safe against bullets from handguns and even assault rifles. The panels are also anti-flammable, cut-proof, resistant to chemicals, humidity and blunt force attacks. This gives our CIT vehicles the edge, while keeping them within their original Gross Vehicle Weight operational spectrum.
